TOREI BRAND 03

Kami no Ebi

A little extravagant, more delicious, and safe
TOREI brand "Kami no Ebi". Let's get to the secret.

Exquisite taste full of umami

TOREI's shrimp business has a track record of more than 30 years. By cultivating suppliers from all over the world and making full use of TOREI's sales channels that cover all of Japan, we are now proud to be one of the top-class producers of shrimp in Japan.

"Kami no Ebi" was born as a shrimp brand that only TOREI can do. Carefully selected by TOREI, who knows the shrimp production areas of the world, the taste is characterized by a strong umami and sweetness that sets it apart from other shrimp, and a slightly salty taste. In addition, it is a gem that can be said to be the culmination of the shrimp business, with a focus on all processes from raising, processing, and shipping.

"Kami no Ebi" is farmed vannamei shrimp. Origin: India and Ecuador. All of them are carefully raised by 100% seawater aquaculture at a farm that draws in clean sea water. Seawater farming slows growth compared to freshwater farming, but it grows larger and has a larger body and a plump texture. And it grows into umami and nutritious shrimp.

The price is a little high, but the reason why the repeat rate is highThe reason is the original "taste" and "size" of the shrimp.

  • 1.“Umami” surprises customers who try it for the first time

The amino acid content, which is said to be an index of umami, is about 1.5 times higher than that of common vannamei shrimp, and the original shrimp flavor is rich and full of umami. Its umami taste has been scientifically proven.
  • 2.Exquisite saltiness is the "salt concentration" nurtured by nature

I am often asked, "How do you add this exquisite saltiness?"This is a natural product from the sea. "Kami no Ebi" is cultivated in seawater with high salinity (approximately 4-5%). If the salt concentration is high, the amount of amino acids increases and the growth of plankton, which causes an unfavorable taste, is suppressed, so the original umami of the shrimp and the natural salty taste stand out.
  • 3."Plump elasticity" by keeping high freshness

One of the reasons for the loss of freshness was the long transportation time from the farm to the processing plant. "Kami no Ebi" takes less than 3 hours to transport. In addition, by performing a quick freezing process, it maintains a high degree of freshness without losing its umami. As a result, even when thawed, it retains its elasticity and flavor that is comparable to freshness.

The brand value of “Kami no Ebi” beyond the deliciousness

Sustainability is at the core of our activities.

TOREI visits all of the production areas and suppliers, actually sees the environment, equipment, and feed in which the shrimp grows, talks with the people who work there, and carefully selects the aquaculture suppliers that grow "Kami no Ebi." I'm here. Supplier staff likes shrimp more than Japanese people, pours passion into their work, and thinks about the global environment and business sustainability.

As part of this, the supplier of "Kami no Ebi" has acquired ASC certification. ASC certification is an international certification system for aquaculture managed and operated by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council. We need a sincere relationship. Together with our suppliers, TOREI will spread the value of "Kami no Ebi" to the world.
