Creating an attractive workplace

Amidst dramatic societal changes such as a declining workforce due to a low birthrate and aging population, and an increase in global talent, there is a growing need to create workplaces that are inclusive and supportive of people regardless of nationality, gender, age, or disability, and to cultivate and promote diverse talent (diversity and inclusion). At TOREI, we believe that "people" are the driving force behind continuously increasing corporate value and meeting social demands. By promoting the advancement of women and employee training, we encourage the growth of each and every employee, thereby building a system that allows diverse talent to thrive and contributing to the growth of the company.

Initiatives related to occupational safety and health

Occurrence of industrial accidents, etc.

At TOREI, we are committed to preventing falls and cuts, which are common causes of workplace accidents, taking into account the unique risks associated with processing and logistics operations for our main product, frozen tuna. Specifically, we are working to reduce the risk of workplace accidents by installing protective devices on equipment, clearly identifying and informing employees of hazardous areas, developing work procedures, and providing employee training.
In the unlikely event of a workplace accident, we promptly review our equipment, work procedures, and manuals, share the details of the incident with all our business locations as an immediate report, and thoroughly implement measures to prevent recurrence through reporting and discussion at the Safety and Health Committee.

Safety and Health Committee

All our business locations hold a "Safety and Health Committee" meeting once a month. The committee discusses matters related to occupational safety and health (such as accident reports, infectious disease information, and the status of overtime work), as well as environmental impact figures and the progress and challenges of environmental activities. In addition, some offices also share information and discuss monthly themes (risk assessment, evacuation drills, stress checks, health check results, etc.).
Information shared at committee meetings is disseminated to the respective departments of the attendees, and meeting minutes are posted on the company portal to reach all employees.

Promoting diversity

Employment of people with disabilities

At TOREI, we aim to hire at least one person with a disability each year, which is 0.5% more than the legally mandated employment rate. To ensure the continued employment of people with disabilities, we have been accepting interns from special needs schools at our offices nationwide since 2019. By accepting interns, we can assign tasks that are suited to the interns' abilities, and TOREI can also learn what kinds of tasks we can actually entrust to people with disabilities.

Organizational Culture Survey

At the TOREI Group, we conduct an "Organizational Culture Survey" every year to promote the creation of a workplace where employees can work with peace of mind. This survey broadly assesses employees' attitudes toward their work and their satisfaction with the company, as well as their understanding and acceptance of compliance and company policies. The survey results were shared with all employees, clarifying the strengths and weaknesses of the TOREI Group, and we are now working to improve the workplace environment and other aspects. Through these initiatives, we aim to create an organization where every employee can feel comfortable working.

opinion box

To receive a wide range of opinions from employees regarding the work environment and compliance, we have installed "suggestion boxes" at all of our business locations. With the poster's consent, the content of the post and the response status are disclosed internally, excluding personal information and other confidential information. This ensures transparency and reliability in operations.
