TOREI's sustainability

Basic idea

Global social and environmental issues such as climate change, resource issues, and human rights issues are intricately interconnected and progress on a daily basis. Against this background, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were set as a vision for the world by 2030 in order to address major economic, social, and environmental challenges. As a company, we are expected to actively work to resolve these issues, contribute to a sustainable society, and grow ourselves sustainably.
Since its founding, TOREI has evolved as a company engaged in the business of delivering the blessings of the sea to people's tables. Since 2006, we have established an ``Environmental Management Policy,'' obtained EcoAction 21 certification, and have been working on various environment-related action plans. However, as global issues and social risks increase, we will be required to carry out sustainable management and business activities with a greater sense of speed.
With an eye toward solving various social issues, we will work together as a group to achieve the "sustainable and stable supply of marine resources," which is TOREI's mission and the core of our business. We will further promote sustainable management so that we can continue to deliver the blessings of the sea to future generations.

Environmental management report

TOREI strives to improve the sustainability of its business by paying attention to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. We create and publish an environmental management report every year to let people know about our efforts.

Environmental management policy

The Environmental Management Policy indicates the basic policy regarding environmental management and initiatives based on the TOREI Group's business philosophy, and has been established as a pledge to society. In addition to our basic philosophy, our environmental management policy specifies the activities and fields we will focus on based on our own business activities, which will lead to the formulation of medium- and long-term activity plans and goals. We review our environmental management policy at the end of each fiscal year and consider the need for revisions. Additionally, we have separately formulated ``Environmental Management Goals'' and ``Environmental Management Plans'' as specific action plans for realizing our environmental management policy.
